Rosas-Diaz was charged with identical counts in 2021 for the same incidents. All counts were dismissed without prejudice Aug. 19.

According to a criminal complaint, a deputy was sent to the Norway Police Department on Dec. 2, 2021. There he met with a girl, her mother and grandmother. They told the officer that the girl’s cousin, who was 12, had been sexually assaulted by Rosas-Diaz.

An investigator spoke to the cousin and she alleged that Rosas-Diaz, her stepfather, had touched her multiple times and would force her to touch him. The girl said she tried to tell him no and to stop, but alleged that Rosas-Diaz said he would break something if she refused. She said the alleged sexual assaults had happened at least four times.

Rosas-Diaz’s cash bond was set at $50,000 during an initial court appearance Aug. 29.

He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing Oct. 2.
