According to , the Racine Police Department began investigating after responding to a report of a 19-year-old being shot about 8:34 p.m. April 29.

The shooting occurred in the 900 block of LaSalle Street, but the victim was driven to another location.

According to a criminal complaint, the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his head while sitting in the backseat of a friend’s van.

The complaint states that three people were in the van, including the driver, the victim and another passenger, and that they allegedly were attempting to buy marijuana from someone on social media.
