JANESVILLE — YWCA Rock County has been awarded a $4,000 grant from The Women’s Fund Grant Program of the Stateline Community Foundation to enhance emergency safety and response capacity at its emergency domestic violence shelter.
For more than 25 years, YWCA Rock County has provided safety, shelter, and support to survivors of domestic violence and their children—individuals escaping abuse and taking their first steps toward rebuilding their lives. In 2024, the shelter served 97 individuals, including 67 children, and has already provided safe housing to 51 individuals so far in 2025.
Funding from The Women’s Fund Grant Program will allow YWCA Rock County to purchase and install two AED machines — one on each residential floor of the shelter—along with LifeVac airway clearance devices in both adult and pediatric sizes and fire blankets for the kitchen and laundry areas.
Each year, YWCA Rock County’s shelter serves nearly 100 domestic abuse survivors from across the area, including families from ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½, Beloit, and surrounding communities.
