JANESVILLE 鈥 The 糖心Vlog传媒 City Council is set to take action on a proposed addition to Prairie Wood Estates on the city鈥檚 northeast side.
Specifically, the council will take up a memorandum of understanding at its meeting Monday at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 18 N. Jackson St.
The council approved a final plat for Prairie Wood Estates at a meeting May 12.
Prairie Wood Estates is in the area of N. Wuthering Hills Drive and Sandhill Drive. The proposed additions are behind existing structures that are along Sandhill Drive. The easternmost plats can be accessed from Windmill Lane.
In total, there would be nine single-family lots added. Public improvements would be required on Windmill Lane, which would connect the dead ends of the street that extend from N. Wuthering Hills Drive and Sandhill Drive. It will also improve sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, street ligthing, signage and street extensions.
The developer, Rein Construction, will reimburse the city for all engineer services. According to the MOU, there are several key dates a part of a timeline, if it is approved, starting with Monday.
If approved, then the next one would be Tuesday when Rein would pay for design phase services. Wednesday would be when the city delivers a design of public improvements. Then Thursday the city would execute a change order with the 鈥渓owest, qualified bidder.鈥
Then the tentative start of construction would be Sept. 8. After that, the 鈥渟ubstantial completion鈥 of public infrastructure鈥 would be Oct. 17. On Nov. 14, Rein would provide functional street lighting. Then on Oct. 1, 2033 would be the installation of all sidewalks.
However, according to the MOU, Rein reserves the right to change the proposed schedule periodically but 鈥渞ecognizes the City costs are for work performed in 2025. A project delay to 2026 or later will require additional costs for staff supporting the Development.鈥
After completion of the construction plans and specifications, the city will submit applications to the Department of Natural Resources for water main and sanitary sewer permits.
