MILTON — The School District of Milton expects to name three superintendents on or around March 15, to replace retiring Superintendent Rich Dahman, a district spokesperson confirmed on Monday.

It then plans to hold a “Day in the District” on Wednesday, March 18, which will wrap up with a community meet and greet with finalists for its superintendent position.
Dahman is retiring after the 2025-26 school year. The district has hired Illinois executive search firm Hazard, Young Attea & Associates to help with finding his replacement.
The March 18 meet and greet will be in the high school library, 114 W. High St., from 6-8 p.m. It will be a “structured community forum,” according to a release, with a three-part rotation for the candidates in which each finalist will be given a window to speak. Attendees will be able to hear finalists’ visions for district schools and provide feedback to the board.
Attendees are asked to arrive before 6 p.m. and stay for the full duration of the program to hear from each finalist, according to the release. RSVPs are not required but are encouraged by emailing communications@miltonk12.wi.us.

During the “Day in the District,” finalists will visit schools and meet with various stakeholders. They will engage directly with district schools, according to a media release.
“Our staff, students and community provided valuable information during the focus groups in February,” Milton Board President Annette Smith said in the release. “The board looks forward to their thoughts regarding the superintendents during the ‘Day in the District.’”
