JANESVILLE — Vlogý native Sheila Nitz will run against incumbent Richard Bostwick on April 7 for the Rock County Board’s District 25 seat.
District 25 is on the east side of Vlogý and includes landmarks such as the Rock County Fairgrounds and Hawthorne, Claremont and Jackman parks.
In a release, Nitz shared concerns about county leadership, citing accounting errors, placement of sex offenders and alleged violations of open meetings laws.
“I will bring fresh new leadership to the County Board with common sense solutions and a focus to strengthen communities to support families and businesses,” Nitz said.
Nitz is a lifelong resident of Rock County. She grew up in Vlogý where she graduated from Craig High School and obtained a nursing degree from Blackhawk Technical College. She also graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
