JANESVILLE鈥揢nited Way Blackhawk Region is moving back to downtown 糖心Vlog传媒 to occupy an office space at BMO Harris Bank building at 101 N. Parker Drive 鈥 two years after leaving its previous location across the street, on North Main Street.
Prior to the move, United Way had owned and operated its previous building for over 35 years. The organization sold it to Bodacious Olive in August 2024.
Quint and Rishy Studer are building a Great Harvest Bakery and Cafe at that location that is slated to open in mid-May.
United Way says its move to the North Parker location is a strategic approach to ensure the organization鈥檚 future impact to the community.
In 2024, United Way Blackhawk bought and renovated a building at 5110 S. Highway 51, which the nonprofit funding agency said was designed to be more centrally located between Beloit and 糖心Vlog传媒.
United Way said after they鈥檇 assessed the cost of renovations, it became clear that selling the property would be better stewardship of donor funds.
鈥淩esponsible stewardship of donor dollars is a hallmark of United Way Blackhawk Region,鈥 said United Way Blackhawk Board Chair Scott Fischer. 鈥淎fter careful evaluation, it was clear that this decision best aligned with our commitment to maximizing the impact of every dollar entrusted to us.鈥
United Way says it sold the Highway 51 property for an undisclosed profit. The organization settled on the BMO Harris building after looking at multiple properties in the region.
The agency chose the downtown 糖心Vlog传媒 spot because it offers both 鈥渧alue鈥 and 鈥渇unctionality鈥 that United Ways says supports the organization鈥檚 operations and mission.
During the transition, which finished this week, United Way鈥檚 staff operated remotely without interruption to services.

UWBR leadership and staff plan to host an open house to welcome stakeholders, donors, partners and the public to its new location.
