Australian actor Milly Alcock stars as Supergirl in this summer's new DC Studios movie bearing her name. Heading to theaters on June 26, the film finds her character on an intergalactic odyssey of revenge. DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran first noticed Alcock on the 鈥淕ame of Thrones鈥 prequel series 鈥淗ouse of the Dragon.鈥 Since she filmed her cameo for 鈥淪uperman,鈥 it's been a non-stop ride. Alcock says her character reminded her a lot of herself. She's finding the experience of sudden fame somewhat disorienting and laughs about anyone wanting a toy with her face.

Outlaw country singer-songwriter David Allan Coe, who wrote the blue-collar anthem "Take This Job and Shove It'' and created a singing career after a stint in prison, has died. He was 86. Coe鈥檚 wife confirmed his death to Rolling Stone on Wednesday. Coe had a cult following based on his raw, often-obscene lyrics and a checkered plus somewhat mysterious past. His hits included "You Never Even Call Me by My Name" in 1975 and "The Ride" in 1983. He was also the first country singer to record 鈥淭ennessee Whiskey,鈥 which has since become a genre standard.
