The ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ Fire Department has installed three publicly accessible AED cabinets, part of an initiative to boost awareness and the ability for people to respond to sudden, cardiac arrest incidents in busy public spaces.

In a new effort by downtown ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½'s Business Improvement District, artists are helping Downtown ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ storefronts that are vacant or underused. It's called "Windows of Possibility," an initiative that puts artwork created by local artists in vacant or underused storefronts.

A semi trailer caught fire on Thursday on the city's southside, prompting a response from the ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ Fire Department and a crew from the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport because of Hazmat materials inside.

Grow ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ Responsibly, a coalition of local and regional business and labor groups, said Thursday at an invite-only meeting that it seeks to grow its base into a "community" group.

HealthNet of Rock County CEO Kerry Swanson will conclude her 42-year career in healthcare and retire on Jan. 1, the organization announced this week. HealthNet leadership says Swanson will leave the agency dramatically improved and "positioned for continued success." 

The United Way Blackhawk Region hosted an open house at its new downtown ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ location Tuesday evening, calling the event the launch of a new executive team — and the start of a new, collaborative, community-based approach to service.
