JANESVILLE — One year after Wisconsin’s first-ever February tornadoes tore through the Evansville and Albany areas, the Salvation Army of Dane, La Crosse and Rock counties are joining forces to prepare volunteers for future disasters.

JANESVILLE – The general public was asked Sunday to stay away from the southside of ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ after a tornado -- later confirmed as an EF-2 -- touched down there about 8 p.m. Saturday night.

JANESVILLE – The Salvation Army, 514 Sutherland Avenue, in ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½, is having its 29th annual women’s auxiliary fabric and craft sale on Sept. 13, 14, and 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

There is less than a week left in the Salvation Army of Rock County's annual Christmas campaign and the nonprofit needs $152,000 to reach its goal for its ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ branch. 

The 2019 Christmas campaign goal is $400,000, down from last year's $425,000 goal. 

The ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ and Beloit Corps of the Rock County Salvation Army are looking for bell ringers for this year's Christmas campaign.

The Salvation Army Rock County might have to shut the doors to its food pantry because of a lack of donations, officials at the nonprofit said.

The Salvation Army raised $6,000 during its Christmas in July campaign.
