LAKE MILLS 鈥 It was sunny skies and warm weather for the June 28 parade here that served as a capstone for the 2025 Town and Country Days.
鈥淚t鈥檚 great,鈥 said Keaghan O鈥橰eilly, who watched from a shady area along with his sons August, 4, and Ellis, 6.
鈥淲e come out every year. They get candy and then we go play games and ride rides.鈥
The parade began with a police escort followed by the presentation of colors by members of the Clarence Bean 鈥 Warren George American Legion Post No. 67 and Sons of the American Legion.
Terry Streich and Brooke Pfund served as parade marshals. Annie Mulligan, a Special Olympics World Winter Games gold- and silver-medalist and Lake Mills native, waved from a white Camaro.
Bands from Lakeside Lutheran, Lake Mills Middle School, Lutheran Vanguard, and the UW Traveling Band performed, along with the Lake Mills City Band and the Yankee Dutchman Precision Marching Band.
There were floats, fire trucks, race cars, vintage and classic cars, politicians, the Milwaukee Brewers鈥 Famous Racing Sausages, Bucky Badger, and of course, plenty of tossed-out candy.
The accompanying carnival rides and games, beer tent, food, dunk tank, and live music , June 26, and wrapped up on Sunday, June 29. The Lake Mills Optimist Club held its after the parade.
The Town and Country Days festival is held each year in Lake Mills on the last full weekend in June.
