On Sunday, Aug. 30, the Watertown Tennis Association hosted a tennis tournament and fundraiser benefiting the Dominic Leija Build a Better World Memorial Fund.
The event was made possible through the generosity of WAC 鈥 Lake Country, which graciously donated the use of its facility to host the tournament. The day brought together tennis players and community members of all skill levels for a fun-filled event supporting a meaningful cause.
In addition to the tennis tournament, participants enjoyed raffle baskets and a silent auction, with proceeds benefiting the memorial fund.
The Dominic Leija Build a Better World Memorial Fund was established in honor of Dominic Leija, who tragically passed away unexpectedly earlier this year. The fund carries on Dominic鈥檚 memory and his commitment to making a positive difference in the world by supporting efforts that embody the spirit of building a better community. The funds raised go to scholarships for high school seniors looking to enter the electronics field.
The Watertown Tennis Association and Leija family extend their sincere appreciation to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, sponsored, and helped organize the event. The community's tremendous support helped make the fundraiser a very successful and memorable day.
