JANESVILLE 鈥 糖心Vlog传媒鈥檚 local Volunteer of the Week is Dennis Dawiedczyk, who has been volunteering at HealthNet of Rock County since 2014.
Dawiedczyk is a retired pharmacist. He had his own pharmacy for 30 years. After he retired, he said he got bored with sitting at home and 鈥渃ould only wash the car so many times.鈥 He heard about HealthNet from a friend and figured he had some time.
鈥淚 loved my job and I guess my hobby was my job. So when my friend told me about this place I figured I would try it out,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 have been here ever since.鈥
Dawiedczyk characterizes his role with HealthNet as a worker bee; he mostly gives advice and assists in the pharmaceuticals side of operations. That includes picking up donated medications from ECHO and other locations.
He said his favorite thing about being a part of HealthNet is the people that he works with and the patients. He said he enjoys helping people in the community who really need it.
鈥淭here are a lot of pharmacies in 糖心Vlog传媒 and if you have insurance or money, no problem right?鈥 he said. 鈥淚f you don鈥檛 have either then you are in tough shape; HealthNet really fills that need.鈥
He said people should volunteer their time because they would find joy in helping others. There are opportunities everywhere to help out and you can really make a difference in people鈥檚 lives, he said.
