JANESVILLE — The Hedberg Public Library in 糖心Vlog传媒 and Rock Valley Community Programs have partnered to expand the library’s materials delivery program, Hedberg@Home.
Hedberg@Home, supported by volunteers, provides free, regular home delivery of library materials to patrons and caregivers in the 糖心Vlog传媒 area who, for reasons such as health, age, physical condition, lack of transportation, are unable to visit the library. Any 糖心Vlog传媒 facility without a rotating collection of materials may also apply for the service.
Rock Valley Community Programs provides transitional and supportive housing and addiction and mental health treatment services to adults in Rock County.
Recently, a program resident with transportation barriers reached out to Amy Christian, Hedberg鈥檚 programming librarian, to apply for book delivery.
“I jumped at the chance to be able to provide the Hedberg@Home services to him,” Christian said.
Knowing that there were more residents at Rock Valley Community Programs that might benefit from receiving regular library deliveries, Christian shared details of Hedberg@Home with Rock Valley Community Programs staff, including Cortney Bloyer, its residential office manager.
鈥淲e talked about the needs that RVCP residents had and how the library might help. Those discussions lead to setting the facility up to have their first delivery on May 15,鈥 Christian said. 鈥淲e are excited about the partnership and the opportunity to add value to the lives of the residents.鈥
鈥淏uilding community through partnerships like this is central to our mission at Hedberg Public Library,鈥 Library Director Eric Robinson said. 鈥淭his is just one of the ways we continue to create an informed, connected, and engaged community through library services.鈥
Under the partnership, books and information will be brought to Rock Valley Community Programs every five weeks for residents to check out. Residents will also be able to request library materials.
