BRODHEAD 鈥 The Lower Sugar River Watershed Association will honor three people Saturday with Watershed Stewardship awards.
Nick Faessler, Fred Faessler, and John Ochsner will be recognized at the association鈥檚 annual meeting, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Three Waters Reserve, N3941 Golf Course Road, Brodhead.
The award is given annually to honor a member, citizen, organization, landowner, or business in the watershed whose work and leadership demonstrate dedication to the care and enjoyment of water resources.
The association 鈥渋s ecstatic to honor this trio,鈥 a release said. 鈥淭hey have been so focused on watershed health, prairie conservation, and encouraging alignment between farming and land protection and management to achieve these outcomes. Every prairie bumblebee that hums along, flitting from prairie flower to flower, has benefitted from their passions.鈥
