JANESVILLE — A 20-year-old Evansville woman made a very brief appearance via video in Rock County Circuit Court on Tuesday in connection with the shooting death earlier this month of a 14-year-old girl.
Alyssa Ahrens is charged with three felony counts of possession of child pornography and one felony count each of possession of methamphetamine, child sexual exploitation and second-degree sexual assault of a child.
Rock County Court Commissioner Jack Hoag asked her to return to court again Tuesday, May 13, at 3 p.m.
Last week, an Evansville man also arrested in connection with the April 6 shooting death of 14-year-old Florencia Henthorn of Evansville waived a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to multiple charges in Rock County Circuit Court.
Hunter Drefahl, 26, of Evansville, has been charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 16, one count of sexual exploitation of a child, and five counts of possession of child pornography.
No date has been set for Drefahl’s jury trial. His next scheduled court appearance is in July, according to online court records. Both Ahrens and Drefahl remain in custody in the Rock County Jail with bond set but not posted.
According to court records, a $750,000 cash bond was set for Drefahl and a $500,000 cash bond was set for Ahrens.
According to a criminal complaint filed April 8 in Rock County Circuit Court, the victim, who was not named in the criminal complaint, was treated at Mercy Hospital in ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ for a gunshot wound to the head and then transferred to UW Hospital in Madison, where she died.
