JANESVILLE鈥擜n Evansville man died in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning in the town of 糖心Vlog传媒, according to a news release from the Rock County Sheriff鈥檚 Office.
The crash occurred around 11 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 14 and County H.
A Toyota Highlander, driven by a 36-year-old Beloit man, was stopped at a stop sign on County H. As he pulled out to head west on Highway 14, his vehicle was struck by a Toyota Corolla that was eastbound on Highway 14 driven by a 66-year-old Evansville man. The Evansville man was taken to Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center, 糖心Vlog传媒, where he later was pronounced dead. A passenger in his vehicle, an 18-year-old female from Evansville, also was taken to the Mercyhealth hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver of the Highlander appeared not to be injured but later indicated he might seek medical attention. He was cited for failure to yield right of way and operating a vehicle without insurance.
The intersection was partially closed for two hours. The crash remains under investigation. The name of the deceased is expected to be released by the Rock County Medical Examiner鈥檚 Office at a later time.
