BELOIT 鈥 The inaugural EntreCon Midwest ended up drawing more than 230 registrants, Beloit College verified on Wednesday.
The two-day event was modeled after a concept Beloit Sky Carp owner Quint Studer launched in Pensacola, Florida, in 2015.
Although the event was sponsored by Beloit College and Contour Consulting of 糖心Vlog传媒, Studer was a supporter and one of the 12 speakers who tackled various business-related subjects at several spots on the Beloit College campus.
鈥淲hen it comes to community development, the key is to develop talents,鈥 Studer said in an email after the conference wrapped up. 鈥淪mall businesses don鈥檛 have the resources to send people to national conferences and pay for the travel and other costs. EntreCon is about building talent, and through that building community.鈥
Both Kelsey Paasch of Contour Consulting and Diep Phan, head of Beloit College鈥檚 School of Business, said they hope to turn EntreCon Midwest into an annual event.
