The attack on our Capitol on January 6th happened three years ago. Donald Trump convinced people to lose trust in our elections and institutions. Violence and chaos ensued. Much has changed since then. President Joe Biden signed an infrastructure bill that brought our economy back to life. It took time, but his economic plan brought gas prices and unemployment rates down. The stock market began to rise and inflation started dropping. 2023 holiday shoppers paid lower prices for electronic and tech gifts than they did a year ago. While food prices are still high, economists predict they will decrease in 2024.

Many of us have forgotten how dangerously close we were to losing our Democracy three years ago. Memories have faded. Joe Biden righted the ship while we were watching sports on television. Democracy was founded on the principle that it would last as long as we the people continue to protect it. Wars have been fought and lives have been lost protecting it. Today our Democracy is being threatened by those who seek absolute power and revenge. They embrace a leader who demands total loyalty and submission to him. Preserve Democracy next fall with a vote for Joe Biden.
