The third anniversary of the January 6th insurrection has passed without a word from our Republican congress persons who objected to certifying Joe Biden as the next president of the United States. On January 3, 2021 a 21-page memo was presented to Republican House colleagues making it clear that Congress had no Constitutional authority to object to Electoral College votes. The Electoral College had met and voted in each state. A single certified slate of electors signed by the governor of each state was presented to Congress for certification.

Objecting to these electors would be claiming for Congress the right to overturn elections and select the president. Nothing in the Constitution gave Wisconsin’s Republican congressmen that authority. On January 6th 2021 Reps Tiffany and Fitzgerald violated their oath by denying Biden’s electoral votes for President. Sen. Johnson even attempted to forward fake elector slates to be counted.
