Hundreds of patrons came and went Saturday from the ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ Farmers Market’s season opener, a kickoff that featured an even blend of produce sellers, bakers, artisans, farm-fresh meat sellers and food truck operators.

The ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ Farmers Market added several midyear vendors and lured back a few who had left the market in recent years, and a few longtime vendors said they had their best sales volumes ever at the new ARISE Town Square location, market manager Emily Arthur said.

Parker and Craig High Schools’ marching bands are set to make a big noise at The ARISE Town Square during the ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ Town Square Gran Prix bicycle races.

Public safety upgrades at the ARISE Town Square can’t come soon enough for a ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ woman whose son fell in the Rock River while playing with a friend near open riverfront area July 7.

City officials plan to discuss possible public safety improvements to the open riverfront at the downtown ARISE Town Square after a boy fell off the park’s floating pier and was swept downstream in the Rock River’s swift currents on Sunday.

It was a summer of ribbon-cuttings in downtown ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½, and the city will squeeze in one more before the weather turns frigid.
