A highly anticipated NCAA basketball matchup between Duke and Michigan has been canceled because of broadcast rights issues. Duke will now play Texas Tech on December 21 at Madison Square Garden, according to media reports. The original game was set to stream on Amazon Prime as part of Duke's three-game deal. The matchup was initially planned for Madison Square Garden, then moved to Miami, before being canceled. Both Michigan and Duke were top seeds in the 2026 NCAA tournament, with Michigan winning the championship. Duke's Cameron Boozer and three Michigan starters were high NBA draft picks.

Oklahoma City is trading starting forward and defensive standout Lu Dort to Atlanta as part of a three-team deal that also has the Hawks sending former No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher to Dallas, a person with knowledge of the agreement said Sunday. Atlanta also will receive Ryan Nembhard from Dallas and the Thunder will be getting three heavily protected second-round draft picks, said the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal has yet to receive the necessary approvals from the NBA.

Nikola Kusturica of Serbia is joining UCLA's basketball program this fall. He joins Gunars Grinvalds of Latvia, along with center Javonte Floyd from Atlanta and guard/forward Joe Philon III from Tampa, Florida, in the Bruins' freshman class. Kusturica, a 6-foot-9 guard/forward, turned 17 in April and is an early prospect as the No. 1 pick in the 2028 NBA draft. He has played with FC Barcelona鈥檚 youth team since 2023 and helped them win the U18 Adidas Next Generation tournament championship in May.

The Boston Celtics are trading 2024 NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George and a slew of draft capital in yet another blockbuster offseason move for the NBA, a person with knowledge of the terms said Wednesday. Boston also gets two first-round picks and two second-round picks, according to the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the trade had not received the required league approvals.

The Boston Celtics have agreed to a $47.4 million, three-year deal with veteran center Mitchell Robinson, according to a person with knowledge of the agreement. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal cannot be signed until July 6. The deal also includes a third-year player option. The 7-foot Robinson comes over from the reigning NBA champion New York Knicks, with whom he has spent his entire eight-year career since being selected in the second round of the 2018 draft.

A person familiar with the situation says the Charlotte Hornets are trading forward Miles Bridges, a 2029 first-round draft pick and a 2027 second-round pick to the Phoenix Suns for guard Grayson Allen, forward Royce O鈥橬eale and a 2033 first-round pick. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Sunday because the trade still needs to be approved by the league. The Hornets last week traded star point guard LaMelo Ball to Minnesota as part of a larger deal setting off a major restructuring in Charlotte just months after the team improved its win total by 24 games from last season. The Hornets lost in the play-in game to Orlando.

Oklahoma City is further reducing its potential luxury tax bill for next season by agreeing to trade elite 3-point shooter Isaiah Joe to the Detroit Pistons for two second-round draft picks, according to person with knowledge of the deal. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal is still pending the required approvals from the league office. Joe made 681 3-pointers over the last four regular seasons with the Thunder. He did that while playing almost exclusively off the bench and averaging just 20 minutes per game.
