UW-Whitewater middle hitter Kirsten Anderson and outside hitter Jenna Weinfurt were honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association with Second Team All-American selections on Monday. Warhawks libero Morgan Jensen was also recognized with an Honorable Mention selection.
Anderon built off her Honorable Mention in 2022 and helped the Warhawks win 28 games this season — their most since 2016. Anderson broke the university’s single-season blocking record with 163. She also led Division III players in blocks per set with 1.42. The senior has secured 361 blocks in three seasons at UW-Whitewater and was named to the First Team All-Region and First Team All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rosters this season.
Weinfurt, the WIAC Offensive Player of the Year, secured her first All-America selection. She sits second in attacks (1,293) and kills (463) in UW-Whitewater history. In three seasons with the Warhawks, Weinfurt has secured 1,150 kills. She was also named the First Team All-Region roster.
Jensen, a two-time WIAC Defensive Player of the Year winner, was named to the Honorable Mention team. The libero secured 589 digs this season and ended her career at UW-Whitewater with 2,278 digs — the fifth-most in Warhawks history. Jensen also collected 56 aces this season and finished with 197 aces in her four seasons at UW-Whitewater.
