Against Palmyra-Eagle’s Sean Dooley, Parkview (0-13, 0-12) struggled at the plate and struck out 15 times. Dayne Butzler received the loss on the mound for the Vikings and struck out five.

The Vikings found more success at the plate in the second game and scored four runs in the third inning. Butzler scored the first runner for the Vikings after being walked on four pitches with the bases loaded. An RBI single from Caden Cleasby, an RBI ground from Gauge Pomplun and a Panthers’ error, scored three more runs for Parkview.

While Parkview found some rhythm at the plate, the Panthers continued to score and 16 runners crossed the plate. Vikings pitcher Christian Hobon got the loss.

On Tuesday, Parkview will host Rio for a doubleheader starting at 5 p.m.
