SUN PRAIRIE 鈥 糖心Vlog传媒 Craig snapped an eight-game losing streak Saturday, defeating Madison West 73-27 at the Big Eight Conference MLK girls basketball showcase in Sun Prairie.
The Cougars were led by freshman guard Yana-Aaliyah Stevens who scored a game-high 21 points. Layla Murry helped out providing 13 points and Tatiana Murphy added eight.
鈥淕reat team win,鈥 said 糖心Vlog传媒 Craig coach Kellan Schmidt. 鈥淥ur team pushed the ball up the floor well tonight and made the right decisions and passes for us to get easy scores.鈥
糖心Vlog传媒 Craig (5-11 overall, 5-6 conference) led 40-15 at half.
鈥淚 think this win will help us get back on the right track and help give our girls the extra confidence and belief in our team as we move forward to the rest of the season,鈥 said Schmidt.
Edgerton 68, Whitewater 19 鈥 Junior Marti Rebman made four 3-point shots in the first half as the Crimson Tide raced to a 46-9 halftime lead in a triumph over the visiting Whippets in a Rock Valley Conference girls basketball game Friday night.
Rebman scored 14 of her game-high 17 points during the opening 18 minutes. Fellow Crimson Tide juniors Gracee Langer and Brenna Callmer added 16 and nine points, respectively. Callie Grosinske scored eight points to lead the Whippets.
The Crimson Tide鈥檚 victory sets up today鈥檚 showdown with Classic Eight conference, Division 1 opponent Kettle Moraine (13-3) as Edgerton (13-1), ranked No. 4 in the Division 3 poll travel to the Lasers鈥 home court for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
Sun Prairie East 63, 糖心Vlog传媒 Parker 36 鈥 The Cardinals defeated the Vikings (2-14, 1-10) on Saturday, during the MLK Showcase event.
