FORT ATKINSON 鈥 糖心Vlog传媒鈥檚 American Legion baseball team Post 205 saw its first action of the summer when it took on Fort Atkinson鈥檚 junior and senior Legion squads Saturday at Jones Park.

Post 205 tied Fort Atkinson鈥檚 junior team 4-4 in the first game of the day, then lost 8-0 against the senior team.

糖心Vlog传媒 coach Carter Schneider said it was scrimmage-style and that the team used it as an opportunity to get used to playing with one another.

鈥淚 feel like we definitely just made mistakes that should have not been made because of the inexperience of playing with each other. But other than that, I saw a lot from our guys that (showed) we鈥檙e going to be good,鈥 Schneider said.

The first game went just five innings due to time restraints. Carter Salas went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Mike Sikich, Landon Keller and Tyler Hagen each drove in a run. Jordan Yurs also tripled.

Three different pitchers saw time on the mound. In two innings Ryan Jensen gave up three hits and allowed one earned run. Keegan Leeder surrendered two earned runs on one hit. In his lone inning, Jordan Yurs gave up no runs and no hits.

Against Fort Atkinson鈥檚 senior team, 糖心Vlog传媒 collected three hits compared to Fort鈥檚 seven. In four innings, Easton Zastrow gave up five hits and three earned runs while striking out five batters and walking one.

鈥淓aston Zastrow, when he came into pitch in the second game, he basically had four innings where he pretty much locked down their team, outside of giving up two straight hits in one inning,鈥 Schneider said.

糖心Vlog传媒 returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts Beloit at 5 p.m. at the 糖心Vlog传媒 Youth Sports Complex.
