JANESVILLE
A 糖心Vlog传媒 man is suspected of robbing a credit union in 糖心Vlog传媒 and a bank in Madison after police tracked him down following a robbery of a Madison bank Friday afternoon, authorities said.
According to an alert from the 糖心Vlog传媒 Police Department, Madison police on Friday arrested Matthew Kitsembel, 30, on suspicion of armed robbery after responding to a robbery reported at Home Savings Bank at 3762 E. Washington Ave. on Madison鈥檚 east side.
糖心Vlog传媒 police said after Madison police arrested Kitsembel on Friday, Kitsembel admitted he had also robbed the Blackhawk Community Credit Union, 2704 E. Milwaukee St., 糖心Vlog传媒, on Wednesday.
According to a Madison Police Department arrest report, Kitsembel was arrested Friday afternoon at a Madison park a short distance from the Home Savings Bank. The arrest came shortly after the robbery, which was reported at 2:55 p.m. Friday.
He was taken to the Dane County Jail. 糖心Vlog传媒 police said in an alert that charges for armed robbery and an unrelated theft later were referred to the Rock County District Attorney鈥檚 Office.
糖心Vlog传媒 police had been investigating the reported that happened Wednesday afternoon at the Blackhawk Community Credit Union.
Investigators said the robber, a man, handed a teller a note, and the teller gave him an undetermined amount of cash. At the time, police said, the man was armed with a small handgun.
He fled on foot with cash, according to earlier reports.
The 糖心Vlog传媒 robbery led to a soft lockdown of nearby schools, police said.
