New COVID-19 cases reported between Jan. 22 and Friday in Rock County were down by 55.4% from the previous week, according to federal public health data.
In Rock County, 1,729 cases and fewer than 10 virus-related deaths were reported in that time frame, and the county had a test positivity rate of 25%. New hospitalizations from Jan. 22 to Friday also decreased by 18.9% from the previous week along with the test positivity rate falling 4.8 percentage points, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data.
In Wisconsin, 57,213 cases and 345 additional virus-related deaths were reported between Jan. 22 and Friday. The state saw a test positivity rate between 20% and 24.9% in that time period. Among Wisconsin residents age 5 and older, 67.4% are fully vaccinated.
