JANESVILLE 鈥 A 糖心Vlog传媒 man has been charged with sex crimes after he allegedly performed sex acts on two children between January 2022 and September 2024.
Cody W. Briggs, 27, was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 12 and two counts of exposing a child to harmful material, both with repeat modifiers.
According to the complaint, Briggs coerced a victim, now 10, to perform sex acts in the living room of a Beloit home. The parents of the victim had Briggs鈥 girlfriend babysit for them.
According to the complaint, the first victim said that Briggs babysat for him in 2022 and something 鈥渟hocking鈥 happened. Briggs showed him pornographic material, and made him lie on the floor and perform sex acts. The offense occurred again in 2024. The boy is autistic and was non-verbal until recently. The boy reported that his sister, who was three years old at the time, was also assaulted.
The victim told the officer that Briggs 鈥渢ouched me weird鈥 while babysitting him at the home.
The sister told the officer that she had been in pain and couldn鈥檛 breathe when she was assaulted. She said that Briggs showed her pornography and forced her into sex acts. According to the complaint, her parents were home but they were in their room downstairs and couldn鈥檛 hear anything.
Briggs is a lifetime sex offender after a 2022 conviction for crimes against children.
He is due in court for a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
