A foot up: Cadet program gives high school students a start on firefighter careers

MILTON — Racing against the clock, Lakeside Fire-Rescue Cadets Hailey Hesseling, Reid Burton and Blake Sather worked together to stabilize and position ladders onto the side of a drill tower at a department training site this week in Edgerton.

The three students coordinated several ladders, climbing 3-4 levels to secure it on the roof of the tower at the training site on Artisan Road.
