Three council seats are on the ballot in April, all at-large, representing the entire city. The three seats are currently held by council members Paul Williams, Larry Squire, and Aaron Burdick.
In a release, Dobson said he鈥檚 running to bring 鈥渁 fresh, transparent, community-first perspective to city governance.鈥
鈥溙切腣log传媒 is a community I care deeply about and is full of residents with a strong desire to see this community succeed,鈥 Dobson said in the release.
鈥淢y priorities are simple: transparent governance with our residents, fiscal responsibility, and a growth mindset while ensuring due diligence,鈥 Dobson continued in the release. 鈥淚 envision a city council that is responsive to the needs of our residents, respects differing opinions, and listens to all voices.鈥
According to his LinkedIn profile, Dobson has worked for Rock County Human Services, as a human services supervisor, since 2022, first in children鈥檚 long-term care and currently in youth justice.
He previously worked as a long-term support case manager and as a youth and family specialist for Rock County Human Services, back to 2016. Prior to that, he worked as a juvenile detention officer in Beloit and a police officer in Brodhead.
鈥淔or over 20 years, I鈥檝e served our community in both a professional and personal capacity. I鈥檓 running to continue that service as a voice for the people of 糖心Vlog传媒,鈥 the release said.
Dobson previously served on the 糖心Vlog传媒 School Board. He was elected in 2017 for a 3-year term that was to expire in 2020. He resigned in 2018, citing new job responsibilities that limited the amount of time he had available to serve.
