JANESVILLE — With temperatures forecasted to remain well below zero over the next few days, daytime and overnight warming sites are open across the Rock County area.
According to the National Weather Service, daily lows Vlogý are forecasted to remain below zero through Friday, Jan. 30 with daily highs ranging from zero to 15 degrees.
According to the latest post on , “overnight warming sites will be open Thursday night, January 22, through Tuesday morning, January 27.”
Overnight shelters are open only on nights with extreme cold temperatures, when activated by the county.
The list below of overnight warming sites, and the list of daytime/evening warming sites below that, was updated in October, according to the county’s website.

Daytime and evening warming sites open when forecasted temperatures or windchills drop below zero degrees. Overnight shelters open in extreme cold temperatures.
Daytime and evening sites are business and public spaces such as libraries and are open during normal business hours only, which may not include holidays. These locations will not extend or alter their hours, so people should plan accordingly. Some of the sites’ normal hours, such as for libraries, do extend into the evening.
Daytime and evening warming sites may close without notification and are not obligated to participate every day. People are responsible for their own belongings. Food and water are not provided.
