Rachel and Aidan Hill鈥檚 home on the southside of 糖心Vlog传媒 was not damaged by Saturday鈥檚 tornado. On Monday, they were volunteering to help a friend clear branches from her yard.
JANESVILLE 鈥 Tree branches, scattered debris and downed power poles continued to litter 糖心Vlog传媒鈥檚 southside Monday as cleanup along Kellogg Avenue and surrounding streets slowly progressed after an EF-2 tornado touched down there Saturday night.
The former Rock County Job Center at 1900 Center Avenue was once again on Monday a hub where people could seek cleanup help and where people could come if they wanted to volunteer to help. The site had also served as a hub on Sunday.
Velma Leak, a volunteer helping to organize the effort at the job center said between Sunday morning and Monday afternoon, more than 500 people had showed up to help. About 120 of those turned out Monday.
鈥淚t鈥檚 amazing everyone who has come out; it has meant a lot to the people who have needed the help,鈥 Leak said.
She said topping the list of needs were chainsaws, trailers, trucks and just hands to help.
Meanwhile, Rock County Salvation Army provided bagged lunches on Monday, 糖心Vlog传媒 restaurant Mexico En La Sangre provided hot food, and Dunkin鈥 Donuts and Starbucks provided iced coffee and tea.
8 confirmed tornadoes
The National Weather Service, meanwhile, said the EF-2 tornado that formed east-southeast of Footville and tracked through the town of Rock and into the city of 糖心Vlog传媒 about 7:40 p.m. Saturday night packed wind gusts of 115 miles an hour, causing considerable damage to structures and infrastructure like power poles. It was on the ground for 11 minutes, from 7:42 to 7:53 p.m.
It was the first tornado to touch down in the city of 糖心Vlog传媒 in 33 years. The last time that occurred was Wednesday, May 22, 1991. News reports at the time called that a 鈥渨eak tornado鈥 with some roof shingles blown off and minor damage to some cars.
Nate Falkinham, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Milwaukee-Sullivan, said Monday that 6 confirmed tornadoes touched down in southern Wisconsin Saturday night. Those included an EF-0 near Tennyson in Grant County, an EF-1 near Marshall in Dane County, an EF-1 in the Watertown area, an EF-1 in the Fontana area in Walworth County, an EF-1 in the Delavan area in Walworth County and the EF-2 that formed near Footville and tracked into 糖心Vlog传媒.
Damage from an EF-2 tornado that hit 糖心Vlog传媒鈥檚 southside on Saturday, June 22, was slowly being cleaned up on Monday.
Additionally, a seventh tornado in the Argyle area, that destroyed a historic Lutheran church there on Saturday night, was confirmed on Monday to be an EF-2.
And an eighth tornado, an EF-0, was confirmed Monday to have touched down in Belmont on Saturday night, according to the National Weather Service.
Falkinham said a flood warning for the Rock River is expected to continue in the Rock County area for the next couple of weeks as more rain is forecast in the coming week, including strong storms forecast for Monday night.
Tornado victim assistance
Beginning Tuesday, the City of 糖心Vlog传媒, Rock County Emergency Management and the American Red Cross of Southwest Wisconsin, are teaming to open a Multi-Agency Resource Center in 糖心Vlog传媒 to aid tornado victims.
The MARC is hosting a resource event for affected residents on Tuesday, June 25, from 12 to 6 p.m. in the Beckman Mill Room at the Dr. Daniel Hale Williams County Resource Center, 1717 Center Avenue. The aim is to be a hub for community members to access disaster-related relief services and information. The event will bring together representatives from local and state agencies and essential support organizations.
No registration is required to attend. Residents in need of additional resources in the interim should call 211.

Walworth County
The tornadoes that hit Walworth County Saturday night touched down just a few miles from each other.
The first, an EF-I, formed in the town of Delavan, a mile east of the city of Delavan, just south of Highway 50. It tracked for 6.1 miles, southeast to the village of Williams Bay. It was on the ground for eight minutes, from 8:22 to 8:30 p.m. Starting on North Shore Drive and crossing Delavan Lake, it downed trees on Highway F and Bailey Road. One downed tree appeared to have destroyed a home on Bailey Road.
In Williams Bay, it ravaged Lions Park, felling the fencing at a ball diamond, wiping out a garden and downing trees. Downed trees littered the entrance of the Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy.
The tornado tracked over the north shore of Geneva Lake in the village of Williams Bay before dissipating, the National Weather Service said.
The second tornado in Walworth County Saturday night, also an EF-1, was on the ground from 8:22 to 8:39 p.m., forming just east of Fontana, south of Geneva Lake and then crossing over the lake to the northeast. It tracked for about 5.3 miles before dissipating over Lake Como.
鈥淚t鈥檚 possible that the paths crossed over Geneva Lake but there鈥檚 no way of knowing that,鈥 Ben Miller, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said Monday.
鈥淭he paths are 90 degrees to each other. One was northwest-to-southeast and the other was southwest-to-northeast. Given they were not necessarily a part of the same thunderstorm but a part of the same system, it is rather unique,鈥 Miller said.
