JANESVILLE — The Salvation Army Rock County has issued an urgent call for help as donations of turkeys and hams have slowed to a stop.
At this time, the organization is still in need of 80 small hams or turkey breasts to ensure Angel Tree families, seniors, and individuals scheduled to receive a Christmas meal basket can enjoy a complete holiday meal. Smaller hams and turkey breasts are especially important for seniors and smaller households. Without additional donations, some families may not receive a traditional protein with their Christmas meal.
“We are so close to meeting this need, but we can’t do it without the community’s help,†Erica Dvoratchek, Business Administrator for The Salvation Army Rock County said. “These final donations will directly impact Angel Tree families and seniors who are counting on us for a Christmas meal.â€
Drop off of donation can be made at The Salvation Army Rock County, 514 Sutherland Ave, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
According to the release, donations are needed immediately as Christmas meal baskets are being prepared for distribution.
