WATERTOWN — Gavyn Novak went 4-for-5 at the plate while driving in four runs and Tanner Pinnow went 2-for-5 with a trio of RBIs as the Milton Crescents defeated the Helenville Rebels 14-0 Sunday in Rock River League baseball at Fireman’s Park.
MIlton (7-4) scored three runs in the opening inning to grab a lead it would never relinquish. Pinnow grounded into a fielder’s choice to score the game’s first run and Novak’s two-run home run gave the team a 3-0 lead.
The Crescents scored six runs in the third. In that inning, they logged six singles. Justin Schnell’s two-run home run capped Milton’s six-run inning off. After tacking on a run in the sixth and scoring four more in the seventh, Milton assembled its 14-run performance.
The Crescents collected 18 hits, while the Rebels mustered up just one. Jack Ryan went the distance, recording 16 strikeouts and no walks in his complete game, one-hitter outing.
Next for Milton is a home game on Friday at 7:30 p.m. when the Watertown Cardinals come into town. The Crescents will play at Schilberg Park.
