MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — A government inquiry into a rise in antisemitism across Australia before a mass shooting at a Hannukah celebration late last year recommended on Thursday that authorities prioritize gun reform.

The government established the after father and son allegedly opened fire with legally-owned guns at the celebration at Bondi Beach on Dec. 14., 2025. Authorities say their attack was inspired by the Islamic State group.
