Your Views: Trump's war in Iran not serving the US people
Pete Hegseth said recently in a Pentagon briefing: “Iran is an energy rich country, could be, should be. Instead, like so many other places driven by radical ideology, they’ve spent that money instead of investing in their people.
That’s why you had millions of Iranians protesting. Cause they felt like their condition, quality of life didn’t match what it could be or should be. And what was the Iranian state? There’s a reason we call Iran the number one state sponsor of terrorism. Cause they took the money they make and they invested in missiles and they invested in launchers and UAVs.â€
Our country has by these terms earned at least a tie for first place in the list of states sponsoring terrorism.

This administration is asking for $220 billion on top of the military’s annual budget of $1 trillion for a bombing campaign costing over $1 billion a day, primarily against innocent civilians and set into motion without Congressional approval, without our vote, without any imminent threat.
And we continue to back Israel, which daily violates cease-fires in both Lebanon and Gaza. Support of this continued breach of international law is not investing in our people. This request for $220 billion will not go to our domestic infrastructure, health care, social programs, or food benefits.
