VERONA — Vlogý’s American Legion Baseball team, Post 205, played their final two games of the 2026 Verona College Invitational on Saturday at Stampfl Field.
Vlogý tied the first game 2-2 against the Silver Sluggers Navy 17U, then fell 11-1 against the Silver Sluggers White 17U.
In the first game, Vlogý struck first, scoring a run in the bottom of the third inning. In that inning, Keegan Leeder drew a walk and stole second. Mike Sikich’s single advanced Leeder to third, and Leeder scored off an error in the next at-bat.
The Silver Sluggers Navy responded with a run of their own in the ensuing half inning. Post 205 answered with a run to reclaim the lead.
In the bottom of the fourth, Ryan Jensen’s single to center scored Jake Conway. Conway got on base with a walk and was moved to second after Tucker Elliott was hit by a pitch.
That would be Vlogý’s final run of the contest. Their opposition tied it up in the sixth, and Post 205’s side was retired in order in the bottom of the inning.
Sikich went 2-for-3 with a triple and Landon Keller went 1-for-3 with a double. Sam Hoium pitched all six innings. The Parker product allowed six hits and two earned runs while collecting eight strikeouts and five walks.
Post 205 didn’t generate much offense in the next game. Their lone run came in the fourth inning. Elliott singled to start the frame, then Sikich’s sacrifice fly scored him.
Meanwhile, the Silver Sluggers White scored a run in all five innings. They scored five in the second and three in the third.
Post 205 (3-3-2) will host Oconomowoc Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Vlogý Youth Sports Complex.
