JANESVILLE 鈥 Young hoopers or really any young, aspiring athletes will have the chance to hone in their basketball skills with 糖心Vlog传媒 Parker鈥檚 boys basketball youth camp.
The camp will be held at the Parker High School Fieldhouse on July 28-30 from 9 to 11 a.m. It鈥檚 hosted by head coach Matt Bredesen and will include some Vikings players.
The camp is open to boys entering kindergarten through fifth grade.
鈥淚t鈥檚 skill and fundamental building,鈥 Bredesen said. 鈥淲e want to help kids develop passion for the game of basketball. We鈥檒l take anybody. We鈥檒l take kids that just want to try basketball, as well as the kids that are skilled and want to help develop their skills.鈥
Along with the coaching staff, the high school players will help conduct the drills and different stations. Bredesen said the drills will be offensive-focused.
鈥淔or kids this age, it鈥檚 important to just expose them to the game of basketball,鈥 Bredesen said. 鈥淲hen you鈥檙e dealing with elementary school kids, it鈥檚 not about the competition, the wins or losses; it鈥檚 about trying to create and foster a passion for the game of basketball so that they like it and it鈥檚 fun for them in the future.鈥
